To do that, you need to use one of the many website analytics tools out there to study your traffic data so that you can start to get a picture of who your visitors are and where you’re losing them.
For example, you may find that you’re attracting a lot of the wrong kind of traffic to certain pages or that you’re losing mobile users because your mobile landing pages aren’t properly optimized, and you’ll then know where to focus your efforts.
The point is, connecting users with the content they want when they want and need it is key to conversion, and the only way to do that is to improve your tracking and targeting methods.
Put yourself in the user’s shoes.
Studying numbers on a page is one thing, but trust us as NY / NJ SEO vets, to start improving your conversion rates, you’ll need to think like a visitor and ask yourself if your site is truly satisfying.
Like mentioned above, your content needs to meet the needs of visitors at the right point in their journey, so is it? Even if it presents value, is it valuable enough?

Also, are your CTA buttons and/or statements simple? Are you making conversion easy enough, or are there too many steps? The point is, don’t just study data; examine behavior, and adjust your SEO and content marketing strategy accordingly.
Ask users and use video.
When trying to determine why visitors aren’t converting, why not go right to the horse’s mouth by conducting surveys? You can use real-time surveys right on your site to get valuable feedback.
You can even set them up so that they pop up right when the visitors leave their shopping carts. That way, you get the feedback when it’s still fresh.
Then there’s video production, which is a highly valuable conversion tool. Video content can provide a lot of information and value in a short time, and it doesn’t require visitors to do much to get it, which makes it very appealing to them.
The bottom line is, doing an amazing job of optimizing for search won’t matter much if you don’t put the same kind of effort into optimizing for conversion.
