It’s imperative to find the right balance of visual elements and content and empty space, so try to keep your color scheme to two or three colors, and while your established brand identity will obviously dictate your options, look for colors that complement or contrast each other nicely.

Try to find just two or three, max, that complement each other and your general design style, and stay away from heavily stylistic fonts that will make reading or skimming difficult. 2. Asking for too much.
If your website can benefit from the use of forms, and most can, then you need to be careful not to ask for too much information from visitors nor to make those forms too long.
Filling out seemingly endless forms is annoying for desktop users, and it only gets worse for mobile ones. Not only is the process itself more difficult, but it can also get confusing and/or invasive.

So, keep forms to two or three fields, use auto-fill and auto-suggest features to make things simpler, and don’t ask for too much information, especially when it comes to mobile users, because they’ll simply head elsewhere. 3. Assuming visitors will know enough.
Another one of the mistakes in mobile design and web design in general that businesses and marketers make most is assuming that users will arrive at their site with enough knowledge or experience with similar sites to get around.
The truth is, you need to do just the opposite. Your site needs to be designed under the assumption that visitors will arrive with no conception of how to navigate to their preferred destination.
If you even need to use pop-ups or tutorials to help, go for it, just don’t make the mistake of assuming users will arrive at your site already equipped with the knowledge and experience necessary to navigate it.
